what the smithy reader is
The Smithy Reader is Glass Umbrella's iOS app for reading the stories of Grit — the fae village at the heart of savethefae.com. Wisp, the guide from the story, can talk with you about what you are reading.
getting help
Email [email protected]. You do not need an account and you do not need to be signed in — we answer from the address you write from.
It gets you a faster answer if you tell us:
- the device you are on (for example, iPhone 14, iPad Air);
- the version of iOS and the version of The Smithy Reader you are running;
- what you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
We are a small family company, not a ticket queue. We read everything and reply as soon as we can.
common requests
- I can't sign in.
- Write to us from the email address on the account and we will help you back in.
- I want my account and my data deleted.
- Email us and say so — we will delete the account and the data attached to it. What that covers, and what we are required to keep for tax and accounting purposes, is in the privacy policy.
- A purchase or subscription isn't showing up.
- Purchases made inside the app are tied to the Apple Account that made them, so signing in to that account on the device usually restores them. If it does not, email us with the date of the purchase and we will sort it out.
- Something in a story looks wrong, or isn't appropriate.
- Tell us which story and roughly where, and we will look at it. Safety reports go to the front of the pile — the safety & privacy page explains the parent controls that are available in the meantime.
- I need something made easier to read or hear.
- Accessibility problems are bugs to us. Tell us what is getting in your way.
- I'm a journalist, or I want to work together.
- The press kit has the boilerplate, the fact sheet, and the brand assets, plus the address to write to.
